Junk and more junk
The *Kura is a traditional Japanese warehouse and is possibly the strongest building at Shunyoso. It’s definitely the place with the most junk to remove and dust to clear.
Hopefully it will be cleaned out in the next couple of days.
- Kura in kanji characters can be written as 倉・庫・蔵
If you were to look up kura in a Japanese dictionary a rough translation would be “Kura – A place where household goods or merchandise is stored to keep safe from fire, natural disaster or theft.” So this sounds like a perfectly good place to make our bar.

4 ken, an old Japanese unit for length

Let the cleaning begin
My job over the next couple of days is vacuuming tatami mats and trying to clean up the years and years of accumulated dust.
