Contact us if you actually walk or bike to our place. We have a garage with security for ones with bikes that you care.

Highway Bus:（Carbon footprint: THE LOWER CHOICE)
Kindly let us know in advance which bus you will take if you are using our free van pick-up service. In case you miss or change to a different bus (3 different companies run the similar route), let us know by phone or contact us electronically.

3. Shin-Kobe Station: 95min (4,557gCO2) *Shinkansen station
4. Kyoto Station: 132min (7,494gCO2)

To:

1. Uyama bus stop (3 minute walking)
2. Sumoto Bus Center (15 minute walking or 5 min by free pick up)
3. Sumoto Interchange (10 min by free pick up)

There are two options for you to search the route to Shunyoso.
1) Download the Japan Travel by NAVITIME.
Google Play or App Store. You can enable your GPS service and this app will take you to the bus station leaving for Sumoto.

2) Search via Awaji Island Bus Navigator ‘BUSMO’.

NAVITIME INSTRUCTION

First you can either type your starting point or enable GPS. Then search to ‘Shunyoso Kihinkan’, your phone should recognize it as a hotel.

Some buses do stop at a nearest bus stop ‘Uyama‘. Otherwise you can choose ‘Sumoto Bus Center‘ or ‘Sumoto Interchange‘.

If you want to know where you are once you are off the bus, just click on the zigzag circle where indicated blue below.

The app should switch to a map screen guiding you to Shunyoso. It should be easy enough as long as you have the phone reception.

BUSMO INSTRUCTION

You can go to the site (also mobile friendly) and choose your Departure Bus Stop.
ex. From Osaka, choose ‘(common) Osaka’. From Kobe, choose ‘(common) Sannnomiya’ from the Shortcut list. Arrival Bus Stop default setting is ‘Sumoto Bus Center’. Then select the date and time you want to depart or arrive. Click the Search button at the bottom.

From the EXPRESS BUS STOPS (FREE PICK-UP)

If you have suitcases or prefer to arrive with our pick-up service, we recommend using our free shuttle van that looks like this. It is a good idea you jot down the license number as this model is still often used by hospitals and nursing homes. This van can also take up to 2 adult wheelchairs. Do let us know in advance your expected time of arrival and which bus station (either Sumoto Bus Center or Sumoto Interchange) if you would like to use our pick-up service.

Taxi:（Carbon footprint: THE SECOND WORST CHOICE)
If you come to Sumoto Bus Center, there is a taxi waiting in the rotary circle.
The island also has a very limited Uber taxis. Since it cannot be booked in advance, this can be an option for non-Japanese speakers.
